Provincial Superior Kevin Zubel presided at a Mass of Thanksgiving marking the milestone ordination anniversaries of five confreres Fr. Alton Carr (65 years), Fr. John Gouger, Fr. Rudy Papes and Fr. Jim Shea (60 years) and Deacon Dennis Lee (50 years) at St. Clement’s in Barnhart on June 19.

Fr. Alton of the San Antonio community traveled to St. Clement’s and joined Fr. John as a concelebrant of the Mass honoring the combined 295 years of ministry these five confreres devoted to countless people in every corner of the Denver Province, as well as the Amazon Region. Fr. Kevin also noted the breadth of their service, which covers almost every aspect of Redemptorist ministry from parish ministry and preaching to leadership and the foreign missions. Special guests at the celebration included Sr. Gabriella and Sr. Lucy, Redemptoristines from Dublin, as well as a large contingent of Fr. John’s family and friends. Congratulations to all of our jubilarians!
