The first of four planned open houses was held at the newly renovated Liguori Publications headquarters last week on April 23. Guests included the Redemptorist community of the St. Clement Mission House and their staff members. They joined our staff for tours, appetizers and drinks, and then a wonderful buffet luncheon.
All told, 55 people were in attendance, stretching the capacity of our dining room but we “just made it work.” We were pleased with the many positive comments that we received from the confreres. Most, if not all, were surprised at how well the former Redemptoristine monastery has been renovated into a state-of- the-art publishing center. Extensive warehousing (on the first floor and the entire basement), 19 offices, common meeting spaces, a media studio, and a chapel are part of the new look.
The grounds also are being renovated, and multiple repairs are in process. We are still not completely finished, but we are slowly getting there.
Three other open houses are planned. On Thursday, June 12, the EPC, CSSRs and PIM will gather for a formal blessing of the new center. Appetizers and dinner will follow. On Friday, June 13 there will be an open house for our employees, former employees, and family members. Finally, on Saturday, June 14 there will be an open house for the general public. It should prove to be a fun weekend for all.
Mark your calendars if you are going to be in the area. Of course, no formal invitation is needed. Guests are welcome at any time during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am -4:00 pm.
