Unification Gathering in Mexico City

June 13, 2025The Unification Gathering in Mexico City was a great opportunity to meet other confreres who will form the new province uniting the United States and Mexico.
Participants from the United States stayed at the Hotel Bristol and walked to the Provincial House for meetings, prayer, Mass and the evening meal. Everyone gathered at the Bristol Hotel for breakfast and lunch, which was served at 2:00 pm, as is the custom in Mexico. We had an opportunity to listen to a presentation about each Unit that will form the new province and the Extra Patriam, which will be a vice-province of the new entity.
The talks focused on our common identity that unites us as Redemptorists and the unique characteristics of each Unit when it comes to ministry and communal life. There were enough bilingual men translating between English and Spanish to make the small group discussions understandable to everyone.
We also had an opportunity to celebrate Mass at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The gathering was a great way to get to know one another and see new possibilities for the sake of the mission through our restructuring process.Reunión de Unificación en la Ciudad de México

La Reunión de Unificación en la Ciudad de México fue una gran oportunidad para conocer a otros cohermanos que formarán la nueva provincia que unirá a Estados Unidos y México.
Los participantes de Estados Unidos se alojaron en el Hotel Bristol y caminaron hasta la Casa Provincial para las reuniones, la oración, la misa y la cena. Todos se reunieron en el Hotel Bristol para el desayuno y la comida, que se sirvió a las 14:00 h, como es costumbre en México.
Tuvimos la oportunidad de escuchar una presentación sobre cada Unidad que formará la nueva provincia y el Extra Patriam, que será una viceprovincia de la nueva entidad. Las charlas se centraron en nuestra identidad común que nos une como Redentoristas y en las características únicas de cada Unidad en cuanto a ministerio y vida comunitaria. Hubo suficientes hombres bilingües traduciendo del inglés al español para que las conversaciones en los grupos pequeños fueran comprensibles para todos.
También tuvimos la oportunidad de celebrar la misa en la Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. La reunión fue una excelente manera de conocernos unos a otros y ver nuevas posibilidades para el bien de la misión a través de nuestro proceso de reestructuración.
