Continuing Formation: Redemptorist of North America Hold First In-Person Transition to Ministry Program Since 2019 as COVID19 Subsides
The first in-person meeting of the Transition to Ministry & Apostolic Community Program since the pandemic began was held at the Redemptorist Retreat Center in Oconomowoc, WI, on May 17-21.
Unto dust we shall return is a reminder of death. Common context would understand the phrase to be after physical demise. In the days following at least thirty-five explosive eruptions of the La Soufriere Volcano, however, the words have taken on new meaning for evacuees from the “red zone” of Saint Vincent.
This past weekend, St. Mary’s of the Assumption Parish in Whittier celebrated and gave thanks to God for the gift of our retiring director of social outreach, Mrs. Cecilia Sosa. Cecilia has been a partner in mission with the Redemptorists here for nearly 30 years.

This week the Redemptorists, especially those of the Yorkton Region, remember the martyrdom of Blessed Ivan Ziatyk, C.Ss.R., who was martyred May 17, 1952.

A little over a year ago, I was asked to begin a “partners in mission” circle here at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica in Boston, MA. I was concerned that, perhaps, those members of the laity who were asked might feel “put upon” in some way. I was deeply concerned that no one feel pressured into something that they really did not want to do.
